Controversies

Choatic at the Football Association of Indonesia

Chaotic body PSSI adversely affected the implementation of the game of football sport in PON XVIII, Riau. A number of regional representatives sent two teams to compete in Riau.[10]

Play-off tickets

Not only dualism PSSI leadership is causing the problem, the executive committee of football matches PON Riau also mess around with the issue of implementation of the play-off tickets PON between East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.[10]

This problem began when East Kalimantan reported to the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) by South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan accused of using the services of a professional player while undergoing qualification.

On the basis of the report, PSSI finally disqualification sanctions in the form of East Kalimantan. Do not accept the decision of the PSSI for two players accused of professional, East Kalimantan appealed to the Board of Arbitration for Sport of the Republic of Indonesia (BAORI).

Even this Sport Court accepted appeals filed East Kalimantan. Both provinces were ordered to undergo a re-match on Sunday, September 2 in Pekanbaru, Riau.

But in reality, South Kalimantan refused to attend the Stadium Kaharuddin Nasution place to hold a rematch with East Kalimantan.

The resignation of Southeast Sulawesi

What was feared by a team of West Nusa Tenggara, seems a little reality, because suddenly Southeast Sulawesi on Monday, September 10 nights willing to play against Jambi in the party pause. But suddenly a moment to tackle in the game, the Southeast Sulawesi do not want to play on Tuesday, September 11 at the Narasinga Stadium, Rengat.

Decision Southeast Sulawesi is certainly detrimental to the team of West Nusa Tenggara, are still hoping Jambi, lose or draw. But the hopes of the team was made by Umar Mubarak is broken, when Southeast Sulawesi said they would leave that afternoon to Pekanbaru. Be Jambi walkover win by a score of 3-0.

Southeast Sulawesi attitude is very unfortunate to some, given the night before they are declared ready to play, but after meeting information between Jambi and South Sulawesi in the house athletes into a team that stays in Southeast Sulawesi, on Tuesday afternoon, suddenly declared immediately departed Southeast Sulawesi to Pekanbaru.[11]

Controversy of West Java football team

Football Games Organising Committee and PB PON Riau denied when a team of West Java has been disqualified. West Java still qualify to participate in the second round.

It was announced, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Football, Satar Taher told a news conference at the Main Media Center PON on Thursday, September 13 in Pekanbaru.[12]

"It is not true if the so-called West Java's soccer team was disqualified. West Java still valid to follow the second half," said Satar.

Demonstration of supporters

Dozens of football lovers in Pekanbaru staged a demonstration in front of the Hotel Jatra. Demo is addressed to the Board of Judges who stay at the hotel. They are protesting because they are proud of Riau team did not qualify. And based aturanya, Riau who escaped not a team of East Kalimantan.[13]
