Floriane Chinsky, born in Paris and ordained in Jerusalem, became Belgium's first female rabbi in 2005 at Beth Hillel in Brussels.[1] In addition to her rabbinical degree, she has a PhD in sociology of law; the subject of her thesis was the social representations of Jewish law in France.[2] She was removed from her rabbinical job in 2010.[3] She became a rabbi at Chir Hadach, the Masorti congregation in Brussels, Belgium, at Neve Shalom, the Masorti congregation in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.[4]
