Football Club Central Sports Club of the Army 1948 Sofia (Bulgarian: Футболен Клуб Централен Спортен Клуб на Армията 1948 София), short FC CSKA 1948 Sofia (Bulgarian: ФК ЦСКА 1948 София) is a Bulgarian football club from the city of Sofia, which currently competes in Bulgaria's 4th football league, the First Regional Group. They play their home matches at the Obelya Stadium in Sofia.
History
19 July 2016: Foundation
In June 2016 after the old company that represented PFC CSKA Sofia - PFC CSKA EAD - went bankrupt and a new one was formed from merging the firms of CSKA Sofia, Chavdar Etropole and Litex Lovech, several of the fans did not comply with this procedure and decided to found a new club of their own - FC CSKA 1948.[1]
2016-present: Regional Amateur Football Groups
On 6 August 2016 the team was accepted in First Regional Group. The team announced partnership with Errea and a new crest close to CSKA Septemvriisko Zname.[2]
In their first friendly match, they lost 1-15 from BM Sport.[3]
On August 21, 2016 FC CSKA 1948 won its first cup in a friendly four-team tournament in Kokalyane. FC CSKA 1948 defeated FC Akademik Sofia 1:0 in the final.
In their first official league match for the men's team, they won 8-0 against FC Liulin Sofia. After the first half of the season in the Sofia Regional Group FC CSKA 1948 finished as leader with 10 wins and a draw from 11 games. The team also progressed to the Regional Final of the Amateur Cup.
