Everette Taylor is an American entrepreneur, marketer, writer and public speaker. He currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Skurt - the on-demand rental car company. Taylor was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. While growing up, Taylor showed strong entrepreneurial acumen by finding creative ways to make money in grade school and took his first marketing job at the age of 14. After overcoming being homeless as a teenager, Taylor dropped out of Virginia Tech where he studied business and began to pursue his career as an entrepreneur and marketer.

Career

At the age of 19 Taylor started his first company and successfully sold the company 3 years later. After college, Taylor led marketing at the software company Qualaroo - a behavioral insight survey software on both the web and mobile which was acquired by Xenon Ventures. While working at Qualaroo, Taylor started GrowthHackers[1][2][3] - an online growth hacking community and a software as a service (SaaS) that enables teams to manage the growth experimentation process with well-known entrepreneur Sean Ellis (entrepreneur) and led growth for the new company.[4]

He also partnered with NFL player Brandian Ross on the clothing line Unity Over Self to raise money for children with autism.[2]

In 2014, Taylor founded the company MilliSense[5][6] - a transformational marketing firm dedicated to growing companies and building brands through data-driven marketing where he served as CEO. He named the company after his mother "Millicent". Taylor also became the youngest executive at the e-commerce company Sticker Mule, serving as their Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)[7] at 25 years old and helped grow the company's revenue over 50 percent.

After leading marketing efforts for new projects at Microsoft, Taylor joined the on-demand car rental company Skurt as their CMO. He also serves as an advisor to Onyx - a subscription-based beauty box company for Black women.

Taylor's interests span far beyond business. He is a supporter of diversity and gender equality initiatives such as CODE2040, Wonder Women Tech, and Black Girls Code.[5] He started his own scholarship fund to help struggling minority college students pay for tuition and books.[8] He has also been a major supporter of the March of Dimes Foundation helping premature babies, raising thousands of dollars for the organization since 2011.

He also co-authored "Startup Growth Engines: Case Studies of How Today's Most Successful Startups Unlock Extraordinary Growth" with Sean Ellis & Morgan Brown which rose to #1 in "Startups" on Amazon.
