Etonbury Academy (formerly Etonbury Middle School) is an extended secondary school with academy status that is located in Central Bedfordshire, catering for the 9 – 16 age range; each split across Year 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. The Ofsted rating is Good following an inspection on 11th-12th October 2012. Expected number of students on roll for September 2016 is appx 830 with further expansion in every subsequent year. In July 2015 the school achieved the best SATS results in its history.
Senior staff
From September 2015 the senior leadership team consists of the Principal, Mr Alex Prior, with two Vice-principals, Chris Redding and Trudie Squires, the SENDCO, Amy Mew, the Key Stage 4 Development Manager Ravi Baga, and Head of Admininstration and Support Services Vicky Lockey.
Development
The academy is to undergoing major investment, development and expansion - and became a full extended secondary school covering the age range 9-16 years on September 1st 2016. Major new building already completed includes classroom blocks, a new study centre, multimedia and drama studio, rooftop art rooms and art terraces, Design Technology workshops, Science Labs, new management offices and The Pendleton (named for Victoria Pendleton CBE who was a student at the school) community sports and fitness centre along with a 3G AstroTurf pitch.
A Sixth Form provision will be added in 2019.
