Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi is a 2013 Hindi language historical drama/biopic directed by Gul Bahar Singh and starring Indian MP and actress Hema Malini who portrays Vijaya Raje Scindia.[2] The film is based on Mridula Sinha's biography of Scindhia, the former Rajmata of Gwalior, "and her journey from one of the highest aristocrats of the land to a well-known political personality".[3]
The film was completed and screened as early as 2008,[2] but theatrical release was put on hold. It was then scheduled for release in 2009,[4] 2010,[3] and 2011,[5] but release was delayed in each case. The movie was finally released on 1 April 2013.
