Edward Ernest Green

Edward Ernest Green (1861–1949) was an English mycologist and entomologist who specialised in Coccidae.

Green was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. From 1880 Green managed his family's tea and coffee plantations in Ceylon.

He wrote The Coccidae of Ceylon, that was published by Dulau & Co. in London (five volumes 1896–1922),[1] as well as over 200 other papers.

Green's collection of Heteroptera from Ceylon is in the Indian Museum in Calcutta. His Microlepidoptera and Coleoptera from Ceylon are in the Natural History Museum in London.

He died in Camberley, England, in 1949 (aged 8788).
