Edgar Honetschläger is an Austrian artist, filmmaker and is the co-creator of Chickens Suit, a clothing range for chickens.

Personal life

Edgar Honetschläger, born in Austria, spent four years in the USA, 12 years in Japan, three years in Italy and one in Brazil. 1997 he participated in Documenta X, 1998 he presented his first feature film MILK @ the Berlinale. His photos, drawings, paintings, videos and installations where shown e.g. @ Mudam Luxemburg, National Palace Museum Taiwan, Kunsthallen Brandts Odense Denmark, Triennale Milano, Kunsthalle Vienna, Hammer Museum Los Angeles, Art Basel, Sagatcho Exhibit Space Tokyo. Selection of films: 2013 Omsch, 83’ documentary / 2011 Aun, 100’ fiction feature / 2006 The Audience, 2x70’ experimental film / 2003 Il mare e la torta, 60’ film essay / 2000 L+R, 79’ film essay / 2000 colors = the history of chocolate, masacchio, in times of emergency, 33’ film trilogy / 1997 Milk, 102’ fiction feature. His works are to be found in public and private collections e.g. Minato Mirai Yokohama Japan, Museum of Modern Art Luxemburg, Albertina Vienna, IBM, Museum of Modern Art Salzburg, Bank Austria Vienna, Artothek - Collection of the government of Austria, T-Mobile Collection and Red Bull Salzburg Austria. The artist and filmmaker currently lives in Italy and Los Angeles.

Chickens Suit

The Austrian Pavilion at the Expo 2005 where Chickens Suit made its debut.

Described by Honetschläger as "something that you don't really need but everyone wants to have anyway", Chickens Suit was released in 2005 with the help of Wilhlem Mahringer. The suits debuted at the Expo 2005 and have toured Paris, Tokyo and Vienna.^[2] The suits also come in a variety of styles too.
