Eclipse PPM is software for project portfolio management (PPM). It was created in 2002 by Solution Q, a Toronto, Canada-based company. Eclipse PPM is available to companies and organizations across Canada and the United States. The software is used for project intake, prioritization and approval; project visibility and communication; and resource capacity planning and tracking. It was acquired by Upland Software (UPLD) in November 2014.
Technology
Eclipse PPM is a Rich Internet Application (RIA). It is hosted in a secure external data center. In April 2011, a SaaS version of Eclipse PPM was released.[1]
The software is regularly updated, with roughly four new major releases per year. Both enhancements to existing functionality, as well as brand new features are added in a quest to continue delivering a leading project portfolio management solution.
Interface
The Eclipse PPM interface consists of customizable dashboards with 'drag and drop' technology. Users can edit project financials, information, and time tracking in a method similar to spreadsheets. Projects can be ranked based on meaningful criteria that is tied to corporate objectives. A single dashboard also provides personalized views that can be saved. [2]
