Don't Waste Your Wishes is a Christmas album from American rock band The Killers, featuring their yearly Christmas singles from 2006 to 2016. One hundred percent of proceeds from the sales from Don't Waste Your Wishes will be donated to the Product Red campaign, headed by Bobby Shriver and U2 lead singer Bono. [1] The album was released exclusively on iTunes on November 18, 2016, but a limited edition CD will be released on December 9, 2016.[2][3]
Background
The Killers have become recognized for their work with the Product Red campaign, headed by Bono and Bobby Shriver. Every year since 2006, the band has released a Christmas song in support of the campaign.[4][5] Every single comes out around December 1 (coincides with World AIDS Day). As of the album they had released eleven Christmas themed songs and music videos.[6]
Music videos have been released for each of the first ten tracks and a website has been set up specifically for the project.[7]
On November 22, 2016, The Killers were guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.[8]
The album debuted at No. 41 on Billboard's Rock Albums chart on December 10, 2016.
