Delta Rho Upsilon
Delta Rho Upsilon (ΔΡΥ) was founded as a local Fraternity called the Pioneer Club on November 12, 1929 and Greek letters were adopted in the 1950s to avoid the confusion between the University's mascot and other student organizations. It has also been known as the Pioneer Fraternity in the 1940s and has always been a social fraternity in its history. Fraternity members and alumni are called "D.R.'s" or "Delta Rho's" and when the Little Sister organization existed the female auxiliary members were called "Little Sis's".
In its history there has been only one chapter except during the 1960s there existed a second chapter at the Milwaukee Institute of Technology, it was closed when the college transferred ownership to a two-year technical college called Milwaukee Area Technology College.
There has been several houses on the Carroll University campus, which some have been torn down due to the campus expansion and the house at 124 McCall Street has been vacant since the Spring of 2001. Harold Hamilton was the first President of the fraternity and the current mascot is the Pink Panther. A clubhouse for the Active Chapter/Alumni Association exists on the corner of Hartwell Avenue and East Broadway Street off campus. Delta Rho Upsilon elects a Rose Queen each year in addition to holding a semi-formal and formal dance.
