Early life
King was born in 1948 and graduated from the University of California, Davis, JD. She was a practicing attorney in her 20s when she was diagnosed with cancer. Choosing not to undergo invasive treatment or surgery, she instead turned to alternative medicine and energy medicine. With the help of a healer, she had a successful remission. Writing career
Deborah King has published three books through Hay House in the personal development and self-help fields.[4] The first, Truth Heals: What You Hide Can Hurt You, was published on 15 February 2010 and is a United States bestseller.[5] Truth Heals focuses on the effects of painful emotions on physical health and general well-being and the relationship of chakras to the body and emotions.
On 1 April 2011, King's Be Your Own Shaman: Heal Yourself and Others with 21st-Century Energy Medicine, a New York Times bestseller,[6] was published. It covers different methods of energy healing and similar shamanic practices as well as their applications.
Her third book, Entangled in Darkness: Seeking the Light, released on 17 September 2013, focuses on health of the psyche.[7][8]
King is a columnist and frequent contributor to the Huffington Post[7] and Psychology Today on topics in the spirituality and health and wellness fields.[9][10]
