Davie Wilson (born 10 January 1939) is a Scottish former international footballer who played as a outside left.
Career
Wilson made just under 400 league appearances during his twelve-year playing career, making 22 appearances for Scotland (scoring nine goals) and finishing runner-up with Rangers in the inaugural UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1961. Wilson also won a number of domestic honours, winning each domestic trophy between two and five times. Wilson also represented the Scottish League XI.[1]
He later had two spells as manager of Dumbarton, taking them into the Premier Division in his second spell, widely regarded as a commendable achievement for a part-time club. Wilson also had a spell as manager of Dumfries club Queen of the South. Wilson took over after the surprise resignation of promotion winning Nobby Clark.[2]
