The Grommet is a Product Launch Platform for early-stage consumer products that partners with independent makers, inventors, and entrepreneurs to launch a new product every weekday at 12 noon EST. The Grommet discovers, evaluates, and selects products and has helped more than 2,000 companies across 20 categories reach consumers through its curation, storytelling, e-commerce, marketing, and fulfillment management.

The Grommet’s mission is rooted in the philosophy of Citizen Commerce, a movement that enables product purchases that express powerful contemporary values around sustainability, quality, technology, and social enterprise. With makers from across the world selling on The Grommet, it focuses on products that are crowdfunded, technology gadgets, products using new materials and manufacturing techniques, handcrafted, made in the USA, natural & eco, and social enterprises. The Grommet challenges the traditional retail model, changing the way people buy products online by helping them find products that align with their own values or retail setting.

The Grommet (then The Daily Grommet) was launched in 2008 by Jules Pieri, Co-Founder and CEO, and Joanne Domeniconi, Co-Founder and Chief Discovery Officer. The Grommet is headquartered in Somerville, Massachusetts.

The Grommet has launched and helped establish such household brand names as Alex and Ani, BabyCakes, Bananagrams, BluApple, Cuppow, Fitbit, GoldieBlox, IdeaPaint, Mrs. Meyers Clean Day, Otterbox, Plumen, PocketMonkey, SodaStream, Sugru, and Yaktrax Traction Devices, among many others.

As part of The Grommet Wholesale’s launch, Pieri and Domeniconi attended The White House to represent The Grommet's role in the Maker Movement on June 18, 2014 as part of The White House’s first-ever Maker Faire.

The Daily Grommet sees itself as a next step after crowdfunding success to help new businesses get launched. They also feature new products from major corporations, however, including Google.[1][2][3][4]
