Criticism of Haredi Judaism can manifest as criticism of Haredi people as a group, or of Haredi Judaism as a religious denomination and lifestyle.
Criticism has become increasingly widespread among mainstream Jews - including other Orthodox Jewish communities.[1] Critics claim that the Haredi lifestyle is inconsistent with their own tradition and Jewish ethics and values.[2] Proponents of the Haredim argue that due to the perceived decline in moral values in the outside world and greater risk of their children leaving Haredi Judaism, it became necessary to take on increased stringency in some areas of their life.[3]
