ConnecTra
ConnecTra is a not-for-profit organization that provides socialization, community-based and employment-related services for people with physical disabilities in Vancouver, Canada.
History
ConnecTra was formed by quadriplegic Sam Sullivan in 2000 to act as a “connecting agency” to bring together people with disabilities with organizations and agencies running activities and programs. It promotes leisure options, employment-related training, employment/volunteering opportunities and support for entrepreneurs with disabilities.
Overall, ConnecTra aims to enable Metro Vancouver people with disabilities to be “as socially active and involved as possible, setting the stage for many to consider training, education and work.”[1]
It runs workshops and presentations, along with outreach and an information centre.
