"Computech" is a single from the Norwegian band Turbonegro released on cassette tape in 1989. It was recorded at the first Turbonegro rehearsal in January 1989 and only 50 copies (some say 100) were made. The single was titled after the cheap Commodore computer cassettes that they were copied onto.
Half of these were included in the first 50 shrink-wrapped and autographed, custom designed (first edition) copies of Route Zero, which was released in 1989 as well on Straitjacket Records, bassist Thomas Seltzer's own label.
Someone once described the tape:
"Possibly one of the more difficult TURBONEGO items - a limited edition of 50! Hand-numbered, but heck if I can tell whether this is #18 or #48! I did loads of trading with these neurotic NORWEGIANS in the last late 80s and early 90s. One day this cassette arrived wrapped in a disposal bag for sanitary napkins - classy huh? The tape itself - if you are NOT familiar with TRBNGR - this IS NOT the place to start. Let's just call this release an item for the HC fan/completist. The songs - there are TWO - sound like boombox/practice recordings - RAW. A cover of THE STOOGES '1970' played at breakneck speed plus another tune I am unfamiliar with. The remainder of SIDE A has some romantic Spanish music - SIDE B is blank - maybe that's a good thing. You have been warned! All is in excellent condition. WILL BE TAKEN AWAY BY THE CHAMBERMAID."[1]
