Cody Corbett (born December 14, 1993) is an American ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing for the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Playing career
Corbett played school hockey in his native Minnesota with Stillwater Area High School before opting to sign a Western Hockey League agreement with the Edmonton Oil Kings on October 28, 2011.[1] After completing his second major junior hockey season with the Oil Kings and establishing himself as an offensive presence from the blueline he attended the Minnesota Wild 2013 training camp as an undrafted free agent.[2] He returned to the Oil Kings for his overage year and during the 2013–14 season, Corbett established team records for most goals and points in a season by a defenceman,[3] and most career points by a defenceman.[4]
On March 5, 2014, the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL) signed Corbett as a free agent to a three-year, entry-level contract.[5]
