Clathrina laxa is a species of calcareous sponge in the genus Clathrina from New Zealand. The species name is derived from Latin meaning "wide".
Description
This species is identical to Clathrina reticulum except it has wider and thicker actines. More research is needed to determine if this is a distinct species or a synonym of C. reticulum.[1]
