Château de la Faye (Deviat)

Château de la Faye

The Château de la Faye is a manor house located in the town of Deviat in Charente France.[1]

Built during the Hundred Years' War, the entire population of the town found refuge behind these ramparts. The fortress has a wide moat with entry through the moat over a bridge with two arches, that opens to arrive at a vast esplanade facing the logis. In the 15th century, it was the dowry of Perette de Montendre. Some 19th-century extensions improved the mansard roof with small triangular pediment dormer windows.

It is listed a historical monument since October 23, 1992,[2] and is today run as a hotel.[3]
