Central Iran
Central Iran consists of the Alborz Mountains in the north, the Zagros Mountains in the south and west, and the scattered mountains of Khorasan in the east.
It includes the provinces of Esfahan, Yazd, Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari, Markazi, Qazvin, Alborz, Tehran, Qom and Semnan of Iran.
Most of the region has a warm and dry weather with a milder climate in the mountain areas.
The major cities are Tehran, Esfahan, Arak, Yazd, Karaj, Qazvin, Qom, Kashan, Saveh and Shahr-e Kord.
