Cengiz Gök (born on December 23, 1985) is a Turkish ice hockey defenceman and former skier. Currently, he plays in the Turkish Ice Hockey Super League for Zeytinburnu BS. The 1.72 m (5 ft 7 1⁄2 in) tall player at 80 kg (180 lb) shoots left-handed. He also acts as the coach of the Turkey nationalteam.[1]
Sporting career
Gök began performing winter sports at age of twenty, practicing skiing at international level and playing ice hockey.[2][3]
Club
He is a senior player at the Istanbul-based Zeytinburnu Belediyespor ice hockey team. He enjoyed winning the Turkish Ice Hockey Super League twice in the 2014–15 and 2015–16 seasons.[1][4][5] He played at the first round matches of the 2015–16 IIHF Continental Cup in Belgrade, Serbia and 2016–17 IIHF Continental Cup in Sofia, Bulgaria.[3] His team became group champion in the 2016-17 Cup's first round, and advanced to the second round.[6]
Coaching carear
Gök serves as coach of the Turkey men's national ice hockey team.[1]
