Carlos Tornero López de Lerma (born 7 October 1984) is a Spanish footballer who plays for CD Toledo as a defensive midfielder.
Football career
Born in San Vicente de Alcántara, Badajoz, Extremadura, De Lerma began his career with CD Leganés, joining its youth categories in 1995 at the age of 10. In 2005 he made his debut with the first team, in the third division, then continued his career in the category with Levante UD B – being summoned by the main squad for training but never representing it officially during his three-year stint – and AD Ceuta.[1]
In his second season at Ceuta de Lerma became team captain, but left in June 2010 after rescinding his contract, signing with Albacete Balompié in the second level.[2] He made his debut in the category on 29 August, against AD Alcorcón.[3]
On 20 July 2011, after appearing regularly with the Castile-La Mancha outfit (14 starts, 1,479 minutes of action) but suffering team relegation, de Lerma returned to his first club Leganés.[4] He was an essential midfield unit in his only campaign with the Madrid outskirts side, but it could only finish in 12th position.
On 26 June 2012 de Lerma signed a contract with Gimnàstic de Tarragona, freshly relegated to division three.[5] On 26 August he made his official debut with the club, scoring the opening goal in an eventual 1–1 home draw against Valencia CF Mestalla.[6]
On 6 June 2013 de Lerma was released by Nàstic,[7] joining fellow league club FC Cartagena the following month.[8]
