Calizzano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,604 and an area of 63.3 square kilometres (24.4 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Calizzano contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Mereta, Vetria, and Caragna.
Calizzano borders the following municipalities: Bagnasco, Bardineto, Bormida, Garessio, Magliolo, Massimino, Murialdo, Osiglia, Priola, and Rialto.
