In October 2014 Brendan "went viral" after dancing moves from Applause in the background of a live broadcast on NewsChannel 8.[1]
Biography
Brendan Jordan was born in September 25, 1999 to a Peruvian father and an American mother in Las Vegas.
The Buzz
The 9th October 2014, NewsChannel 8 was filming Brendan Jordan in the background of their live duplex about the opening of a mall.[1] While being filmed, Brendan started to reproduce the dance moves of Applause from Lady Gaga.[1]
The next day, Lady Gaga tweeted that she "liked him", while the drag community - including RuPaul and Pandora Boxx was actively sharing the video.[1] The video was also widely diffused by medias like The Today Show,[2] ABC News,[3] The Daily Mail[4] and POPSUGAR[5]
During the last three months, the video has been viewed more than 3.5 millions times.
"Going viral"
In October 2014, Brendan is on the stage of The Queen Latifah Show where he met RuPaul.[6]
In November 2014, he was a model for the American Apparel brand.[1][7] He was chosen for the way he used his platform to raise awareness towards the LGBTQ communuty.[7]
On 14 February 2016, Jordan came out as gender fluid at the "Human Rights Campaign's Time to Thrive conference.[8]
