Bloomberg TV Philippines or BloombergTVPh is a business news channel in the Philippines as part of Cignal's new channel line-up.[1] United States-based Bloomberg Television made a partnership with TV5 Network Inc. and Cignal, both under MediaQuest Holdings, (PLDT's media arm) on March 25, 2015 to launch a local franchise of the international news channel.[2]
Bloomberg TV Philippines, is the first business news channel to air on a 24/7 basis in the country. Bloomberg was the second global network to set a localized channel in the country. Turner Broadcasting System has already established a brand-licensing agreement with Nine Media Corporation, launching CNN Philippines on March 16, 2015 on Radio Philippines Network.[2]
The Philippine channel of Bloomberg is broadcast in English and tapping the talent and production resource of TV5's news division, News5. On October 1, 2015, Bloomberg TV Philippines began the initial test broadcasts, and it was launched in full broadcast on October 5, 2015, exclusively aired on Cignal channel 8 on SD and channel 127 on HD.
