Billy Liar is an acoustic punk/folk band, fronted by the solo singer of the same name. Most often, Billy tours as a solo artist, throughout the UK, Europe and the U.S. and is signed to the independent Scottish record label; Make That A Take Records.
Live At Granton Pier House
Live At Granton Pier House was released on a very limited release in 2007, and was played on Radio 1 and XFM, with the backing of Kenny MacDonald, manager of The Proclaimers.
It Starts Here
It Starts Here was recorded at the Lost Boys Studios in Bedford, England.
Nick Mailing was the studio engineer and bassist and Robin Guy played drums. Robin has played or is playing in bands such as Rachel Stamp, Bruce Dickinson, The Grit, Lars Frederiksen and The Business.
Acey Slade was the producer. He has played in bands such as Amen, Murderdolls, Dope and Trashlight Vision. He described it as 'important music, and maybe the proudest thing I've been involved in.' He also provided backing vocals on two of the tracks.
The Ghosts Of Punk Rock
Billy released a limited edition EP entitled The Ghosts Of Punk Rock in January 2013. It sold out very quickly, and was his first release that just features vocals and acoustic guitar. It was mostly recorded live in one take.
All I've Got
All I've Got was released in October 2013, before Billy's first tour of America including Fest 12, and also his first tour of Australia. The EP features appearances from Rory Sutherland (Broken Records), Stina Marie Claire Tweeddale (Honeyblood) and Fraser Fulton (Victorian Trout Conspiracy).
Lies Lied Live
Lies Lied Live was released in September 2015 through Make That A Take Records. It was recorded at a live hometown show, while Billy was on tour with Joe McMahon (Smoke_or_Fire), as he was mostly throughout 2015.
