Besate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,813 and an area of 12.7 square kilometres (4.9 sq mi).[1]
