Baurzhan Ospanov (Kazakh: Бауыржан Оспанов; born 12 March 1968) is a Kazakh entrepreneur and philanthropist. He takes 44th place out of 50 influential businessmen in Kazakhstan according to 2015 Forbes Kazakhstan annual ranking of "The top 50 most influential businessmen in Kazakhstan"[1] and the 32nd place in Forbes Kazakhstan 2015 ranking of "The 50 richest people in Kazakhstan".[2] He owns the Investment & Industrial Corporation «ZHERSU».

Baurzhan Ospanov was born on 12 March 1968 in Zhylandy village, Almaty region.
Philanthropy
Ospanov is a sponsor of prominent professional Kazakh boxer Kanat Islam. Kanat was a Chinese amateur boxer of Kazakh ancestry. Baurzhan Ospanov asked him to change his citizenship and come to Kazakhstan. From January 2011, Kanat is a citizen of Kazakhstan. After one of his fights, Kanat Islam said: "I'm immensely thankful to Baurzhan Ospanov for his support."[3]
In 2006, Baurzhan Ospanov established an annual literature prize "Daraboz" for the best works of children's literature.[4]
Public life
Baurzhan Ospanov serves as the Vice President of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation[5] and Wrestling Federation of Kazakhstan.[6]
