The Battle of Ap Da Bien was a battle in the Vietnam War, which took place at dawn of October 3, 1973 when the 207th Regiment of the Viet Cong's army-People's Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam (PLAF) was raided by forces of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam while sheltering near the hamlet of Ap Da Bien in Thạnh Hóa District, Long An Province. The 207th Regiment was established in 1970 by Viet Cong in Cambodia[1] According to the 207th Regiment's website, the battle resulted in the death of over 79 soldiers of the PLAF 207th Regiment, of whom most were ex-students of the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. 13 PLAF, 36 AK-47, 3 RPG-7 and 3 RPG-2[2]

In 1991, a shrine called "Miếu Bắc Bỏ" (meaning "shrine of those who left the North") has been built by the locals of Ap Da Bien to honor the Viet Cong soldiers who were killed in this battle.[3]
