The men's basketball tournament at the 2009 Maccabiah Games began on July 14 and will end on July 22. The defending champions are Israel after they defeated France 89:67 at the 2005 Maccabiah Games basketball tournament final.

The final will be held on July 22 at the MetroWest Arena.

Competition Format

The 10 team were split into two groups of five. Each team played against every other team in the group once. The top two teams in each group qualify to the semi finals. The teams ranked 3 and 4 in the group will play for the 5th place in a knockout system. The teams finished last on each group will play a single-elimination match to decide the 9th-10th place.
