The Australian Polo Federation (also known as Australian Polo Council[1]) is the governing body for the sport of Polo in Australia.
Overview
The Australian Polo Federation is the main governing body for the sport of polo in Australia.[2] It is affiliated with the Federation of International Polo (FIP) as well as the Australian Sports Commission.[1][2][3]
The federation comprises associations of all Australian states except for Tasmania and the Northern Territory.[4] The member associations are:
- New South Wales Polo Association.[4]
- Queensland Polo Association.[4]
- Queensland Polo Association.[4]
- South Australian Polo Association.[4]
- Victorian Polo Association.[4]
- Western Australian Polo Association.[4]
Australian Polo Hall of Fame
In 2012, the federation established the Australian Polo Hall of Fame.[5] The inaugural inductees included the Ashton Brothers, Sinclair Hill, Robert Skene, Jim MacGinley, Peter Cudmore, Ken Telford and James Ashton.[5]
