The Austin, Nichols and Company Warehouse at 184 Kent Avenue in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York was built in 1915. It was designated a New York City Landmark in 2005 (overturned by the City Council)^[2] and later listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.^[1] It has been renovated into a residential apartment building.

History

It was designed by noted architect Cass Gilbert. Its structural engineering was by Gunvald Aus, an engineer noted for his engineering of the Woolworth Building, and built by the Turner Construction Co. It reflects Late 19th and Early 20th Century American Movements architecture.^[1]

It served as a manufacturing facility and is listed for architectural criteria. It was extraordinary for its use of reinforced concrete on a huge scale.^[3]
