Auslogics Antivirus

Auslogics Antivirus is an antivirus software application intended to protect a user's computer from viruses, spyware, keyloggers and other cyber threats. The program can also check a computer's vulnerability status, provide privacy controls, real-time virus protection and encryption for instant messaging. The program is made to be used on computers that run the Microsoft Windows operating system, with the application's version 14 (the latest as of the writing of this article in February 2012) supporting Windows XP, Vista and 7.

The program is published by Auslogics Software Pty Ltd, an Australian-based company that specializes in maintenance software for computers that run the Microsoft Windows operating system. Started in 2008, the company gained recognition for its two most highly rated products – Auslogics BoostSpeed and Auslogics Disk Defrag. In 2009 the company partnered with Sony Vaio to develop part of the Sony Vaio Care software installed on the Vaio laptops and desktop PC’s. As of 2011, Auslogics has the Premier Elite Partner status in the Intel Software Partner Program.

Independent tests

In December 2011 comparative test performed by the independent antivirus software certification authority Virus Bulletin, Auslogics Antivirus received the VB100 award.[1] It placed among the top 10 programs out of 54 antivirus packages included in the test, with reactive and proactive (RAP) detection rates near 100% on the chart published by Virus Bulletin.[2] The program also received the Editor's Pick award from Software Informer,[3] was rated 5 stars by Download3000.com,[4] was reviewed by freedownloadscenter.com.[5] Among the program's advantages, reviewers cite an easy-to-use configuration wizard, settings levels for novice, intermediate and advanced users, high detection rates, a gaming mode feature, with the main drawback mentioned in reviews being the lengthy installation process.
