Augusta Municipal Airport (FAA LID: 3AU) is a city-owned public-use airport located approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Augusta in Butler County, Kansas, United States.[1] The Airport lies 1.5 miles East of Andover, in Butler County, Kansas and approximately Six miles East of Wichita, in Sedgewick County, Kansas. The Airport is located within the immediate Wichita Metropolitan Service Area (MSA), and as such, benefits from the many local area aircraft manufacturers who produce general aviation aircraft.

Facilities

The airport covers 140 acres (57 ha); its one runway, 18/36, is 4,199 x 60 ft (1,280 x 18 m) asphalt.[1]

In the year ending June 30, 2015 the airport had 36,000 general aviation aircraft operations, average 99 per day. 105 aircraft are currently based at this airport in 2015: 85% single-engine and 15% multi-engine with one jet and four helicopters.[1] The Airport currently has Seven (7) independent T-Hangar buildings on site, each holding up to ten aircraft per building. The Airport and City of Augusta are in the process of adding up to four additional T-hangar buildings in the near term, adding storage capacity for up to an additional forty aircraft.
