Aria is an early pioneer in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to solving the problem of optimising communications networks against a wide range of technical, business and regulatory requirements.
The rise of virtualized networks functions (NFV) and software-defined networks (SDN) create a new, much more dynamic context in which service providers must execute many more service and network design decisions than with traditional (physical) networks. As such, the greater potential for speed and agility points to the need for automated decision-making.
Aria takes a more holistic view of the optimization process than conventional least-cost routing tools. The company argues that narrow optimisations (such as within a particular network technology or vendor's equipment) can lead to technically optimal, but business-undesirable outcomes. The consequences include overbuild of network capacity, fragmentation, and an inability to anticipate the effect of network failures on services and customers.
Aria offers a suite of capabilities, either in the conventional on-premise deployment, or on a software-as-a-service basis, hosted within a customer's private cloud.
