Aniam (Hebrew: אֲנִיעָם) is an Israeli settlement, a moshav, located in the Golan Heights, under the administration of Israel. The settlement was built in 1978 and falls under the municipal jurisdiction of the Golan Regional Council. In 2015 it had a population of 503.
The international community considers Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.[2]
Etymology
The name Ani'am is derived from a member of the Menashe tribe (2 Chronicles 7:19), whose tribal area included the Golan Heights.
