Amersham & Wycombe College is a further education college situated in Buckinghamshire, England.
The college has three campuses; the primary site being located in Amersham, with two additional campuses located in neighbouring towns of High Wycombe.
Sites
The main campus is just off Stanley Hill in Amersham, a large building constructed in the late 1960s, adjacent to Amersham School, a state secondary school. The College offers a range of courses including Art and Design, Fashion and Costume, Media, IT, Business, Hair and Beauty, Sport, Construction, Public Services, Travel and Tourism, Health and Social Care, Dance, Foundation Studies, Acting and Musical Theatre, from Entry Level to Level 4 are on offer. The High Wycombe campus is located in the village of Flackwell Heath and the Inspire Centre, which is based in the middle of High Wycombe, was opened in October 2014.
The college today
Amersham & Wycombe College has over 2,000 full-time and over 5,000 part-time students, making it one of the largest educational institutions in Buckinghamshire.
The College is one of 20 Founder Colleges of the "Creative and Cultural Skills Academy". Amersham & Wycombe College is also in partnership with Buckinghamshire New University, National Enterprise Academy, BPEC, Skills Funding Agency and University of Westminster, amongst other well-established organisations, employers and educational institutions.
Amersham & Wycombe College is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS). Upon enrolment at the college, all students are entitled to join the NUS.
The College also runs its own record label, known as "SHAM Records", as well as a theatre named "The Theatre On The Hill" (located within the Amersham Campus), as well as a TV show called "Amersham & Wycombe TV".
Future Plans
Amersham & Wycombe college announced in late 2016 plans to merge with the Aylesbury College, this merge will involve the complete dissolution of The Amersham and Wycombe College which will allow all proceeds, assets and all campuses owned by Amersham & Wycombe to be handed over to Aylesbury college.
