Alta Mesa Memorial Park
Alta Mesa Memorial Park is a non-denominational burial ground located in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, California. It was established in 1904 as a 72-acre cemetery.[1] It includes traditional burial plots, a mausoleum and a columbarium.[1]

- Tennessee Ernie Ford, musician[2]
- Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc. (unmarked grave)[3][4]
- Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, keyboardist, harmonica player and lead vocalist, founding member of the Grateful Dead[5]
- Kathleen Thompson Norris, American novelist[6]
- David Packard, co-founder of Hewlett-Packard and U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense[3][7]
- Herold Ruel, major-league American baseball player[8]
- William Shockley, developed transistor and won Nobel Prize for Physics[9]
- Frederick Emmons Terman, considered (along with Shockley) the father of Silicon Valley[10]
- Stephen Timoshenko, Professor of Applied Mechanics, Stanford University and namesake of the Timoshenko Medal
- Ray Lyman Wilbur, physician, third president of Stanford University and 31st U.S. Secretary of the Interior (cremated, but not interred here)[11]
- Shirley Temple[12] American film and television actress, singer, dancer, and public servant
- Larry Wu-Tai Chin, a famous Chinese spy
