Allan McGonigal

Allan McGonigal (born 1964, in Stirling) is a Scottish former Falkirk and Cowdenbeath striker footballer and is the former manager of Scottish Third Division side Berwick Rangers.

As a player Allan was a striker with Meadowbank, Falkirk, Cowdenbeath, East Fife and East Stirlingshire. He was in the Meadowbank side that were runners-up to Accies in the First Division in 1987-88, Allan famously scoring a hat-trick in their 5-1 midweek win at Douglas Park in 1987 when the Edinburgh side's teambus arrived only minutes before kick-off! Allan has also been assistant manager at Dumbarton, Forfar and Stenhousemuir.

Hamilton Accies announced on 24 June 2010 the arrival of Allan McGonigal as u19s Manager.^[1] Allan will work alongside Billy Reid, first team coach Stuart Taylor and Academy Director Frankie McAvoy. Formerly Manager at Berwick two seasons ago, Allan has just managed Bo'ness Utd to their first East Super League title in 40 years, and entry into the coming season's Scottish Cup.^[1]

Allan commented, "I'm delighted to be coming to Hamilton and to work with the club's talented youngsters in this season's Clydesdale Bank u19s League. I watched a few of their matches last season and recognise the quality that is there." Manager Billy Reid said, "We are pleased to have Allan on board as part of our staff."

Allan has recently returned as the manager of Bo'ness Utd, replacing Paul Ronald in charge of the East Superleague side.
