The 1949 Afghan parliamentary election in Afghanistan was held after a royal proclamation was issued calling upon the people to elect the National Assembly. The elections decided the members for the seventh Afghan Parliament (1949-1951). The elections were considered relatively free.[1] The number of people who voted is not known, because there was no census and there were no electoral lists.
