ALD Automotive is a French fleet managing and operational car leasing company and a fully owned subsidiary of Société Générale.[1] The company is active internationally and manages around 1.2 million vehicles.[2] It is one of the top 3 car leasing companies worldwide.[3] As of 2015, it is active in 40 countries, with most of their fleet based in Europe.[4] The company also sells former lease fleet vehicles to consumers through its ALD carmarket brand.[5]

In 2015 ALD Automotive started leasing out e-bikes in the Netherlands,[6] as part of a program on experimenting with innovative mobility on the Dutch market.[4]

In June 2015, the Italian competition regulator AGCM searched the offices of ALD Automotive and seven other leasing companies as part of an investigation on illegal coordination of market strategies.[7][8]
