The 1st Infantry Regiment, was one of the two fast deployment border covering Estonian regiment created during the Estonian War of Independence, which was active till the Soviet occupation of Estonia. The main task of these regiments was to delay the invading forces on the borders in order to win more time for the mobilization to be carried out.
History
The 1st Infantry Regiment staff was based in Narva. The unit was made up by mainly active duty soldiers and officers.
