- June 28-29 – Two University of the Philippines in Los Banos Laguna Students Aileen Sarmienta and Allan Gomez were abducted and killed by the men of Calauan Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez.
- July 2 – 266 people were killed after a pagoda sank in Bocaue, Bulacan due to overloading of the boat.
- September 11 – Ferdinand Marcos remains was laid to rest in Batac, Ilocos Norte.
