The 43rd Cannes Film Festival was held on May 10-21, 1990. The Palme d'Or went to the Wild at Heart by David Lynch.[3][4]

The festival opened with Dreams, directed by Akira Kurosawa and closed with The Comfort of Strangers, directed by Paul Schrader.[5][6][7][8]
